- Make an ice pack placing ice cubes in a plastic bag and sealing the top of the bag. To wrap the bag, wrap a thin towel around it. When using ice cream or ice packs, don’t apply them directly to the skin.
- Reapply the ice pack to your face after 20 minutes and allow it to sit for another 20 minutes. You can repeat this up to three times. If this is too uncomfortable, you can wear it once an hour for 20 minutes.
- Please continue to do so as often as possible over the next few days. In this case, leaving the ice on longer than 20 minutes may give you a headache.
- The compression process. Pressure (compression) can be used to reduce and support injuries.
- Injured areas should be bandaged with elastic bandages. When the bandage is too tight, your hand or foot might feel cold, tingle, or change color. Make sure the bandage is loose again.
- An unwrapped bandage needs to be rewrapped.
- Elastic bandages should not be worn overnight.
- Swelling can be reduced lifting injured areas. Keeping the injured area above the level of your heart will prevent your arteries from being clogged.
